Teaching
Megan has taught the undergraduate inorganic chemistry course for juniors and seniors. Many of the juniors apply to graduate school the next year, so Megan and her TA (Zach Wood) developed a "Picture an Inorganic Chemist" assignment to help students see the wide range of chemistry and people doing inorganic chemistry as well as to get students looking at research group websites as they start to prepare applications.

With Professors Barry Thompson and Travis Williams, Megan acquired funding from NIST, the USC Core Instrumentation Fund and the Anton B. Burg Foundation to build a new polymer characterization lab for a new undergraduate course. This course will be the capstone of a new Plastic Circularity Minor at USC, which combines business, environmental sciences, chemistry and engineering courses to give students a broad perspective to solving sustainability challenges, such as plastic pollution.
